Tree Spotting

The beauty and value of trees in our communities is seemingly immeasurable.  Trees provide shade, shelter, food and beauty at a glance.  When investigated, the scientific miracle a tree performs in our life-cycle is profound.

May 25, 2013- Jacaranda in Los Cerritos Park

I love the bold and intense canopy of the jacaranda this time of year, and the magical purple shadow cast as the flowers float down like an organic amusement park for faeries.  The bees still get busy gathering pollen from the fallen violet blooms, so watch your step when passing by.   If you park under a jacaranda or another tree….a quick getaway or a quick rinse removes their ethereal gifts from your vehicle and (hopefully) back to the earth…a worthy trade for their beauty and shade.
